Investing in Ministry

Four rounds per year. Applications close 31 January, 30 April, 31 July, and 31 October.
These scholarships will cover course costs of up to $4000 either for:
- theological study or ministry formation,
- OR for further professional development for workers in the church
This scholarship is aimed (in order of priority) at:
- People working in children’s, families, and youth ministry looking to develop their ministry skills and/or theological abilities
- People considering ministry who want to try out theology before going through assessment
- Elders, “lay preachers”, and others in the church (including those in non-paid roles) who are doing ministry and looking to upskill
- Other paid employees in the Church (e.g. administrators) looking to do professional development
The number of scholarships awarded will depend on the funds available each quarter.
Who can apply
Members of the Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa New Zealand (or Cooperating Ventures linked to the Presbyterian Church).
How to apply for a scholarship
To apply for the “Faith Seeking Understanding” Scholarship, please submit:
- the “Faith Seeking Understanding” Scholarship application form
- a short letter explaining which course you would like to do and why you would like to do it
- proof of the total cost of the course (a website screenshot or email from the course provider will suffice)
- a short written reference from the minister or clerk of your church supporting your application
