St Heliers Church & Community Centre
St Heliers has long been known for the way they prioritise ministry to and with the families and young people of their community. In 2023. St Heliers welcomed a new Minister.
One of their recent challenges as a church has been to find new ways to “be church” to their community sharing the love of Christ in a variety of ways to an increasingly diverse and secular community every day of the week. With this in mind, St Heliers decided to hire a part-time Children, Families and Community Ministries Leader. They applied for a sPDS grant to co-fund this role.
In early 2024, St Heliers reported back to PDS on how the new Ministry Team was going. The combination of skills and passions brought to the ministry team by the Minister, Children, Families and Community Ministries Leader and the Centre Manager, has resulted in growth in the number of children and families participating at St Heliers services and in their community outreach events. St Heliers have continued this growing Ministry and are deepening the relationships with the families and children who have taken part from their Community.
